East Jordan Police Chief changes jobs

By B. J. Conley

EAST JORDAN — The city police chief is now a patrol officer with the East Jordan Police Department.

Dan Reece discussed changing positions with interim city administrator Denny Jason.

“It was his decision,” Jason said. As far as a new police chief is concerned, Jason said he would wait until a new administrator was at the helm.

“I think the new administrator should make that decision,” Jason said. “It’s best for the city. I think for now the department is in very capable hands.”

Dale Boehm is acting police chief as of Monday, March 1. He has been with the department for 13 years.

Reece, who begins his shift as patrol officer on Thursday, March 4, has been with the city police department for 20 years and chief for approximately five years.
