Two Business Leaders Join Boyne Chamber Board

Two new directors have been elected to the Boyne Area Chamber board of directors. They are Karen Guzniczak of Country Now & Then/Up the Lazy River and Gary Deters of RE/MAX Resort Properties. Reelected to the board was Zane Carter of Northwestern Bank.

The directors will start their three-year terms in January and will be formally installed at the Chamber's Annual Meeting on Jan. 21 at Boyne Mountain. Before that, they will participate in the board's annual planning session.

Guzniczak is co-owner with her husband Ray of Country Now & Then / Up The Lazy River, located at 211 E. Water Street. They have owned the business for 19 years. Guzniczak is the originator of the Stroll the Streets program for Boyne City Main Street, and she continues to organize the event each summer.

Deters has been selling real estate in the Boyne City market in 1986. He became broker and co-owner of RE/MAX Resort Properties in 1993. He has served as Board President, Realtor of the Year, and a Director for the Michigan Association of Realtors.

Zane Carter has served two years on the Chamber Board as Treasurer and is currently Vice President. A resident of Dietz Road, Boyne City, Carter has been a Financial Advisor for four years at Northwestern Bank in Charlevoix. He is Secretary of the Boyne City Booster Foundation.
